This is SOOOO long overdue and so let’s get an apology out of the way for that before we even start! I am so sorry to keep you waiting so long! Now that we have that taken care of let’s deal with what you all came here for! In November I started a 4-week teatox program that I had found online. Now I am no stranger to doing a teatox, or drinking tea in general (we may or may not have a cupboard in our house that looks like a tea store when you open it!) but I had heard from a few sources about this brand and decided to give it a go..
Another point that I should just get out of the way right now is that usually when you are doing a teatox you should make an effort to eat as clean as possible (Try my Roasted Pepper & Tomato Soup, Zucchini/Tomato/Feta Bake, or Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Bowls!) drink lots of water (and tea!), and either up your workouts or maintain a steady schedule (sidenote: it’s a great time to try a new activity! Read about my first Adventure Challenge when I tried out wall climbing!).. and I can openly and honestly say that NONE of that happened while I was on this teatox! I know, I know, enough with the excuses, but it WAAASSSSS the beginning of the busy holiday season and life was just crazy.. I worked out at home (or with my nephew) when I could find a few minutes here or there, and I ate what I could, when I could and if it was good for me then it was just an added bonus to being something to put into my stomach! We all have times like this… right?!!
The tea that I chose for this teatox was Flat Tummy Tea (4-week fab). Like I said before, I had heard about this tea from a few sources and after sitting at my computer hmmm’ing and haww’ingz away, wondering if it was a tad ridiculous that I was ordering tea from Australia and having it shipped across the world just so I could rid myself of the food baby that had seemed to attach itself to me! Who are we kidding though, I would do almost anything to rid myself of that! So I ordered the damn tea, and I waited and waaaited (patiently).. and finally about a week later my tea arrived! It was a little crumbly in the package when I opened it up, and not as “leafy” as I was expecting, but it IS tea, and it diiiiiid just get shipped from across the world so I cut them a break on that one 😉
I started the very next morning. The first thing that I absolutely loved about this tea was that once it is brewed, you can drink it right away, while it’s still warm! Now, this seems silly to be so excited about, but some teatox’s that I have done in the past you brew the tea and have to wait for it to cool before you can drink it.. quite honestly, that gets under my skin! When you live half the year surrounded by snowbanks as tall as your car, icy roads, and disgustingly cold temperatures you just don’t want to start your day with cold tea. Sorry, but you just don’t!.. So here I was on day one with my WARM cup of tea.. and down the hatch it went!. I started each day out with the daily tea for the full 4 weeks (even had a little extra at the end to get one extra cup out of it!) It was delicious.. the flavor was nice and light. It gave me a nice little boost of energy to help me get through my day without sending me overboard with a jittery vibe and shaky hands! (Yes! Certain caffeine has done this to me before!) They tell you that this tea may increase bathroom visits and I did find that this happened, but it was not in the way that hits you in the face and sends you running in a panic to find the closest bathroom around! So, you drink the tea each morning, and they give you a different tea to drink every second night for the first week and every third night thereafter. I loved this tea even more than the daytime tea. The flavor was nice and light like the day time tea, and it didn’t leave a weird aftertaste in your mouth like others have before. I won’t go into any details, but this nighttime tea will help you get through your morning routine with ease and I definitely felt better throughout the day.
By the time I was done my tea I had lost about 5-7 lbs. I say “about” because I really didn’t pay all that much attention to my weight before I started. I felt really good, and all cleaned out! I would recommend Flat Tummy Tea to anyone who is looking for a product to help them rid of their water weight food babies.. or as some people call it.. beat the bloat. Seriously, it works.
